  The innards were essentially a slightly modified Atari 800. It was hard to keep the 5200's for long because the controllers kept breaking.

    dont hate on the 5200
    its great
    and the controllers
    did suck but you can buy rebult controllers
    that have new circutry
    
    the system lasts
    ive had mine scince 1982
    and the cartridges work great
    thats more than i can say for my NES
    that requires a bunch of cart jigglin

  I have a big Atari 5200 plus games. The thing is about the size of a phone booth. I guess it's an arcade version. Do you know anyone who wants to buy it?
